These are the books I received over the last two weeks.

Bought:

A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger – My daughter read an ARC and loved it and she thinks it is a perfect fun read for me right now.

On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves – This looks like a good summer read to me and is a story about survival on an island. The reviews make it sound really good.

Review:

Butter by Erin Jade Lange – This realistic contemporary sounds like an intense and powerful read. It’s about an obese boy who is bullied and decides to eat himself to death live over the Internet.

Foretold: 14 Tales of Prophecy and Prediction edited by Carrie Ryan – I’ve already read the Dimitri and Rose VA story and look forward to diving into the rest of the book. I like the concept of the collection and the great line-up of authors.

Sacred by Elana K. Arnold – Sacred is the first book in a new 2-book romantic contemporary series. And I like that it takes place on Catalina Island.

Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols – I’ve only read Love Story by this author but eventually hope to catch up on all her books. I jumped at the chance to read her latest about a girl who loves to fly and finds herself torn between two brothers.

Serial Hottie by Kelly Oram – Looks like a cute, fun, romantic mystery and I couldn’t resist giving it a try.

Spark by Brigid Kemmerer – I have the first book in this series (Storm) on my kindle so hopefully very soon I will be reading these back to back.

Library:

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (Audiobook) – Continuing my Sarah Dessen education with this highly regarded music-centered book.

Revived by Cat Patrick – I don’t think I realized this was a dystopian book, but I enjoyed Forgotten by this author and this one sounds intriguing as well. In Revived, the government has figured out how to bring people back from the dead and do so over and over.

Audiobooks for Review: Thanks to Penguin Audio who always have something interesting to listen to. And audiobooks are a great way to take a chance on a new genre.

The Art of Intelligence by Henry A. Crumpton – A unique account from a CIA counterterrorism expert.

Stolen Prey by John Sandford – Lucas Davenport #22 mystery thriller.

The Storm by Clive Cussler – The 10th installment in the NUMA files. Sounds like it’s an action-packed adventure.

Audiobook Purchase:

The Watch that Ends the Night: Voices from the Titanic by Allan Wolf (Audiobook) – I took advantage of Audible’s member sale and snapped this one up. It just won an Audie award this week in the multi-voiced performance category.
