Spring Fever: Top Ten Books At The Top Of My TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature from The Broke and the Bookish. This week we are counting down the books on our Spring TBR! These are (some of) the books I have my eye on, listed in order of publication date:

1. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare – March 19 Margaret K. McElderry Books. Is this really the end of the Infernal Devices? That was fast!

2. OCD, The Dude, and Me by Lauren Vaughn Roedy – March 21 Dial. I guess I just like quirky books about people that don’t fit in but eventually find their place in the world.

3. If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch – March 26 St. Martin’s Griffin. This contemporary survival story / mystery sounds intense.

4. That Time I Joined the Circus by J.J. Howard – April 1 Scholastic Point. Described as The Night Circus meets Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Circus settings in books are interesting to me, and I like the music tie-in.

5. Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire – April 2 Atria. Can’t help but be curious about Beautiful Disaster from Travis’ perspective.

6. How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer – April 23 Balzer & Bray. Looks cute- it’s described as The Devil Wears Prada set in Disney World.

7. Game. Set. Match. by Jennifer Iacopelli – May 1 Coliloquy. Looking forward to reading this New Adult tennis romance.

8. The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr – May 7 Little, Brown. About a musical prodigy whose career ends prematurely. I’m always drawn to music themed books, and eagerly await this one.

9. If I Should Die by Amy Plum – May 7 Harper Teen. Time to wrap up The Revenants trilogy.

10. The Language Inside by Holly Thompson – May 14 Delacorte. A multicultural verse novel about identity and post-tsunami Japan.

What books top your Spring reading list? Let me know in the comments!

I think curious is the best word to describe why I want to check out Walking Disaster too. And I can’t wait to read If I should Die. I just finished the first two Reverants books in the past week and loved them. It shoujld be good to see how everything wraps up for Kate and Vincent.

  6. fishgirl182 says:

  14. Quinn says:

I thought that reading Beautiful Disaster was like watching a train wreck – but at the same time I definitely want to read Walking Disaster. No matter what you have to say about Travis, he was a very interesting character, and I do want to know what was going on inside his mind.

I am so excited for Clockwork Princess, but also totally nervous!!! I don’t know if I will be able to handle it. Yike!

    Happy Spring Reading 🙂

  27. squee1313 says:

Eeek Eeek! That’s my excited girlie sound. I have preordered Walking Disaster and I can hardly stand the wait. I have been reluctant to talk about Beautiful Disaster to my bookophile friends because I don’t know if they’d feel as strongly about it as I did. Sometimes I don’t care about other people’s reactions to books, but this one illicited such strong feelings from me. I think if my friends thought the book was stupid then I would feel like they thought I was stupid. How stupid is that? Ha! Anyway, Travis was such an intriguing character and so well drawn. I was so attracted to him despite the fact that he is the embodiment of everything I wouldn’t want in a relationship (particularly the extreme co-dependency). I relate to how Pidgeon was so against him in the beginning but fell for him anyway. The only thing that bothered me was the neatly tied up ending. It was too fairy tale and gushy sweet for a story that had been so emotionally raw up until that point. I hope being inside Travis’s head is as interesting as it sounds.

  28. A really, really good list. I agree with everything you said about the books in your list.

Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday post!

  32. Great list! I really need to catch up on Cassandra’s books, I own most of them I just haven’t read them yet. I hope you enjoy all of your books!

  33. Candice says:

Oh I totally want to read so many of these! Can’t wait to get to Clockwork Princess; I’ve been holding off on reading Clockwork Prince so I can go straight into it! And How Zoe… this sounds so so so so cute! I also need to read Amy Plum’s series so I can be ready for the last one! I have both on my kindle!

  34. CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. I am dying for that!!! Although I know it will kill us. 🙁 Wahh. I am about to start WITH ALL MY SOUL, which I’ve also been looking forward to forever–so many big series are ending this year!

I really want to hear what you think of IF YOU FIND ME, Lucy–it is intense, and so well-written.Great list–loo forward to your thoughts on them all. 🙂
