Top Ten (Audio) Books to Put Under the Tree

dear santa

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature from The Broke and the Bookish. This week we are listing the books we want Santa to deliver. Make mine audiobooks, Santa!

1. Champion by Marie Lu – I have the hardcover but I liked the Prodigy audiobook so much I’d enjoy checking out the final installment that way.

2. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson  – I’ve owned this book for ages, but put it off because it seems so sad. I liked Brittany Pressley’s narration in Dare You To and think the audio format is the way to go.

3. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas – I’m re-reading Throne of Glass via audiobook and I’d like to continue the series that way. So good!

4. Life After Life by Kate Atkinson – This book is topping a lot of best-of lists, and I’m eager to read it. I’m on the fence about audio vs. print because I hear the plot is complex and so might be easier to read in print.

5. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner – This book has dual authors and dual audiobook narrators! I’ve listened to a sample and I’d love to experience the whole audiobook.

6. Counting by 7’s by Holly Sloan Goldberg – This looks like such a cute Middle Grade book!

7. A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty – I’ve been meaning to read this, and I just saw this is a full-cast audiobook, which will probably be fun for this quirky fantasy story.

8. How to Love by Katie Cotugno – I’ve been curious about this book, and think I’m more likely to get to it sooner with the audiobook.

9. Cartwheel by Jennifer DuBois – I like to listen to mysteries via audiobook, and this Amanda Knox inspired story sounds like a good one.

10. Reality Boy by A.S.King – I borrowed this audiobook from the library but it expired before I could listen. Love this author!

Well I’ll be hoping for Crown of Midnight as well! Along with that I’d like see World After, Legend, the Ron Burgundy ‘autobiography’, Can You Keep A Secret? and A Fatal Winter. Oh, and Allegiant!

  2. Love the sound of Counting by 7’s

  3. Champion and Reality Boy are high on my list! Merry Christmas!

I love how you put a spin on this for audiobooks! Oh my, Second Chance Summer was a great read for me as well as These Broken Stars. I have a library book of Counting by 7s, it sounds really good. Hope you get all of these audio pleasures 🙂

  5. I actually have not listened to a single one of those. Going to put These Broken Stars on my wishlist!

Ooh, HOW TO LOVE was one of my faves of 2013, so I hope you get to it one way or another! COUNTING BY 7S is on my list too, and I definitely wanna try LIFE AFTER LIFE!

  7. I so want these broken stars!!

I tried reading A Corner of White a while back and just couldn’t get into it. But, that being said, I feel like it would be a great audio, especially if it has a full cast! Will have to keep an eye out for it! These Broken Stars is very good too – you’ll have to let us know how the dual narrators work out. And Throne of Glass/Crown of Midnight = my favorite! Merry Christmas friend! 🙂

I hope Santa takes the hint!

I love that you picked all audiobooks! I wish Santa could bring me 12 Audible credits. That would be awesome. I’ve got Life After Life on my wish list for the public library’s digital audiobooks and How to Love on my bookshelf. Oh, and Reality Boy is kind of amazing. I hope Santa makes some of these possible!
