Fave Reads of 2015: Adult Fiction

faves of 2015

I’m continuing my Faves of 2015 series today with Adult Fiction. Catch up with my YA picks here. Here are my Fiction, Romance and New Adult picks from 2014.

My Adult Fiction percentage (NA, Romance, and Fiction) was about 38% this year and I see that climbing in 2016. I like to mix it up with the categories I read so I don’t get burned out, but this year I sure did read a lot of Contemporary Fiction!

Fave Reads of 2015: Adult Fiction:

The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan – Probably the book I’ve recommended/gifted most this year. “Nick and Bex’s royal romance is dishy and escapist fun, with juicy scandals and betrayals that keep you on your toes.”

Pretending to Dance by Diane Chamberlain – Molly is in the process of adopting a baby and that forces her to confront the skeletons in her family closet. This one kept me turning pages waiting to find out the big reveal.

The Bollywood Bride by Sonali Dev – I love the Bollywood series! “The culture, setting, family, and romance made this an unforgettable read, and the heroine’s personal struggles added depth to the story.”

The One that Got Away by Bethany Chase – This one was a fun debut! “The One That Got Away is a breath of fresh air; a witty and romantic escape read. I especially loved the career focus of the book, the colorful cast of characters, and the setting.”

After You by Jojo Moyes – A satisfying follow up to Me Before You and something to tide you over before the movie. “After You is the sequel to Me Before You that I didn’t even know I wanted but it ended up giving me the closure I needed.”

Come Away with Me by Karma Brown – Such a great debut! “This book has a story that pulls you in right away, lots of emotion, drama and heart, and oh man, this book just gutted me!”

Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid – I read all three of Reid’s books this year, starting with this one. I’m hooked! “This book really appealed to me with its “Sliding Doors” premise, the idea of fate, soul mates, relationships and second chances, and finding happiness and meaning in your life.”

Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center – This wilderness survival/life adventure is really satisfying and inspiring. “Helen’s journey of self-discovery is filled with humor, heart, surprises, and a little danger, and may even make you long for a little outdoor adventure.”

The Deal and The Mistake by Elle Kennedy – I binge read the first two books in the Off-Campus series. I don’t read a lot of New Adult anymore but thought these books were flirty, sexy and fun. Can’t wait for the next one!

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – The most hyped book on the list. I may have to re-read this one before the movie comes out.

What were some of your favorite Adult Fiction reads of the year?
