Review Policy

Hello! Thanks for thinking of me for your book review needs! My name is Lucy and I’ve been chatting about books, audiobooks and movies here at The Reading Date for the last 4 years. I will attempt to answer any questions you may have on this page.

Feel free to drop me a line at readingdate@ gmail.com for review pitches, blog tour invites, or other promotional needs. Note my category preferences, accepted formats, and policies below.

I like to read:

Young Adult Contemporary

New Adult

Adult Fiction

Contemporary Romance

I also read these categories but not nearly as much:

Middle Grade

Historical Fiction

Dystopia

Paranormal

Non-Fiction- Celebrity memoirs, Vegan cookbooks

Accepted book formats:

I can accept print, kindle/mobi, and audiobook review copies. I am also happy to accept review copies via Netgalley or Edelweiss.

Other promotional opportunities:

I am open to blog tours, author interviews, giveaways and guest posts. You can check out past features here.

Where to find my reviews:

All reviews are posted here on my blog, and broadcast to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Google+ and Goodreads. I’m happy to publish to other sites by request.

Reviews and book coverage:

Accepting a book for review consideration does not guarantee a review, or a positive review. I make it a priority to review books I’ve personally requested and aim to publish reviews to coincide with the publication date.

I do publicize books I receive for review in other ways such as the memes Mailbox Monday or Top Ten Tuesday.

Contact:

If you feel like your book is a good fit for this blog, feel free to reach out. Unfortunately I cannot respond to all review requests due to the volume of email received, but if I think your book is a match for the blog I’ll be sure to reply in a timely manner.

The Movie Date review policy:

Andrew is the resident movie critic here at The Reading Date. Andrew reviews movies that appeal to the YA audience, such as book adaptations, and also prefers spy thrillers, action movies, and indie films.

Get an idea of the types of films Andrew reviews by checking out The Movie Date archive.

We are starting to cover more movie news on the site in addition to reviews, so feel free to send along content you think will appeal to our readers.

If you would like to invite Andrew to review a movie or if you would like to send along promotional materials you can reach him at: wordsforthepictures @gmail.com.

Thanks so much for your interest in The Reading Date!
