Indelible Blog Tour: Character book picks – Yara Silva

Today I am happy to welcome Lani Woodland, author of Intrinsical and the upcoming Indelible, who stopped by to share some of her main characters’ favorite books with us.

I read Intrinsical earlier in the year, and thought it was a delicious ghost story, perfect for this time of year. I’m excited that the second book in the trilogy will be hitting shelves in just under two weeks.

Let’s get to know main character Yara Silva a little better through her favorite books and see what she has to say about them:

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong – I have sympathy for Chloe. I understand her desire to be normal.

How to Take the Ex out of Ex-Boyfriend by Janette Rallison – Sometimes I just love a good laugh.

Jane Eyre  by Charlotte Bronte – And I really loved the modern retelling Jane by April Linder. I liked how Jane never compromised who she was to please other people.

I also like Eternal Starling by Angela Corbett. I’m totally Team Emil. I don’t know if I really believe in soul mates but I do know that sometimes we go to extremes to protect the people we love.

I like Yara’s taste in books! Thanks to Lani Woodland for sharing Yara’s favorite books with us and giving us some character insight.

Here is a summary of Indelible:

Indelible (The Yara Silva trilogy #2) September 27, 2011

Yara is beginning to understand just how much her life will change now that her Waker abilities have emerged. She has come to terms with the fact that seeing ghosts is part of her life, but she isn’t ready to let being a Waker dictate her choices. All she wants is a ghost-free senior year with her boyfriend, Brent, and her best friend, Cherie. But Yara soon discovers that there are more dark secrets in her school s history than just the curse she broke. While an angry ghost makes Yara question everything she thought she knew about spirits, she and Brent learn that there are long reaching consequences to last year s adventures. As new enemies emerge and old ghosts resurface, Yara finds herself in the center of another deadly mystery, and this time she has to contend with the living as well as the dead.

So many great books with gorgeous covers! I am such a sucker for the covers. I’m looking forward to reading them all. Hopefully time will permit it.

What a great idea!! Makes sense though.. with writing a character, you get so fully into their personality that of course they’d have favourite books!

I’m also intrigued with Intrinsical… will have to check it out 🙂
