Top Ten Tuesday: Santa Baby

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish featuring a new top ten list each week. Everyone can participate- head on over to their blog and sign up.

This week’s topic is to list the top ten books we hope Santa brings. I rarely receive books as gifts, and I suppose it is hard to shop for books for someone that reads a lot. It was actually harder than I thought it would be to make this list. I tend to look forward to new releases releasing months from now, but this list got me to think about what books that are out now that I want to read. And I even ended up placing holds on some of these with the library!

I would be thrilled if Santa left any of these books under the tree:

6. Love and Leftovers by Sarah Tregay I fell in love with verse novels this year and want to read more of them. This one sounds quirky and fun. It will be released shortly after Christmas on Dec. 27.

7. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta – Everyone who has read this book loves it and it’s time I stopped dragging my heels and read it already.

8. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys – Have heard great things about this book, and it sounds like an amazing read.

9. The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories byย Joseph Gordon-Levitt – This book looks so cute! It’s a stocking stuffer type book with very short stories and illustrations.

10. Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty – The Jessica Darling series is one that many bloggers fell in love with this year, on the tenth anniversary of the first book. I want to catch up on this series next year with the Contemporary challenge.

What books are you hoping to receive?

Great list! Check your e-mail. I sent you one from my personal e-mail on accident (ccchellesss). Let me know so I can send you a copy of Jellicoe Road. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Holidays!

You are too sweet – thank you so much, Michelle!

  2. Kathy says:

You have some interesting books listed. I want to read Catching Jordan and I want to check out Sloppy Firsts. While I realize it’s contemporary and Bumped isn’t, I really liked that so I’m certainly up for checking out more of Megan McCafferty’s work. The real “okay, that’s weird” story I have for you is that I actually bought Clockwork Prince even though I don’t own Clockwork Angel. So I’m sure you can imagine that’s way up there on my list. Why’d I do it? It was 30% off at Walmart. Who am I to say no to a bargain?

Anyway, I hope that you have a wonderful day. Merry Christmas!

    1. Lucy says:

I liked Bumped by that author also, but yes the books sound totally different. It’s a good idea to buy books when they are first released for the discount, and I would have bought Clockwork Prince too!
Thanks & Merry Christmas to you as well!

  3. I really need to read Jellicoe Road! I’ve been meaning to for so long now.

  4. Love your list. I really would like just about all of them. I haven’t read any of them. Hope Santa is listening.

  5. Lori says:

Oh! Jellicoe Road & Sloppy Firsts! I love both of those so, so much. I definitely hope Santa brings them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Merry Christmas.

    My Top Ten Tuesday

  6. The cover for The Clockwork Prince alone is enough to make me want to buy it. Haven’t heard of the others, but a couple sound very intriguing!

    Here’s my post.

  7. Candice says:

I’m on the third book in the Jessica Darling series… they are super good! Definitely hope Santa brings you this one.

  8. I’m reading Clockwork Prince now, and it is amazing. By far, Cassie’s best book yet! I have never been so conflicted over a love triangle in my entire life! After Clockwork Angel I thought I was firmly Team Will, but then I saw the cover of CP. lol Now that I’m reading it, the conflict is even worse. At the Cassie Clare signing, she called me Switzerland. I was hoping reading the book would change that, but so far, not so much! I really hope Santa brings it for you!

Great list! I hope Santa brings everything on it! Merry Christmas!

CP sounds amazing! That’s great that you got to go to the signing too. I’m sure I’ll end up buying it soon.

It made me so sad that you want the Goblin Wars book because I got it for review but I haven’t read the first book. Oh, I wish I could send it to you–but lack of $$ prevents me from doing that.

Hope you can get your hands on it!

    1. Lucy says:

Thanks for thinking of me, Reut! I have it on hold at the library. Yay for libraries! Hope you like Tyger Tyger when you get the chance to read it.

  11. LWSpotts says:

You’ve got some really interesting selections. I’m intrigued with the Joseph Gordon-Leavitt book and plan to check it out.

    Merry Christmas!

  13. So many great books on your list! I can vouch for Love & Leftovers, Between Shades of Gray and Sloppy Firsts. All three are definitely worth having on the shelf. ๐Ÿ™‚
