I skipped last week’s MM so there are a few extra books to share this week. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far! It’s certainly heating up here.
Review:
Love All by Callie Wright from Henry Holt and Company – This is a family drama type book set in the 90s in upstate New York.
Anatomy of a Boyfriend and Anatomy of a Single Girl by Daria Snadowsky, kindle editions from the author – I liked Boyfriend a lot – it’s like an updated Forever by Judy Blume.
Purchased:
Coda by Emma Trevayne – Looks good- Male POV, dystopia where the government controls the citizens through music. Interesting, right?
The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp – Found a used copy of this one with the original non-movie edition cover. Looking forward to seeing the movie but in the meantime I can check out the book.
Library:
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan – Audiobook read by Ari Fliakos. I grabbed this one for the title, and it does sound very adventurous and unique.
Astray by Emma Donoghue – Audiobook read by James Langton, Kristine Hvam, Robert Petkoff, Suzanne Toren & Dion Graham. I’ve heard this audio is fabulous, and I liked Room by this author so I had to take a chance.
Love is a mix tape by Rob Sheffield – The author narrates the audiobook and I like music-themed bios.
eGalleys:
Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover – Companion to Hopeless – so excited to read it!
Being Sloane Jacobs by Lauren Morrill – Two girls named Sloane, an ice hockey player and a figure skater, switch places for the summer.
Night Film by Marisha Pessl – This book is getting a lot of buzz and it looks like an exciting mystery thriller.
The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle – I liked Myracles Shine a lot, so I requested this one on her name alone- but the more I read about the book the more I want to read it! It’s about the summer after high school and first love.
Taste Test by Kelly Fiore – This looks fluffy and fun, and is about a teen reality cooking competition.
Let me know what you’re reading or listening to in the comments. Have a good week!
Night Film does sound good – must check it out.
