Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event brought to you by Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming books we can’t wait to read.
I went looking for a Valentine’s Day-ish cover for this week’s WoW and Let’s Get Lost caught my eye. Isn’t it pretty?
Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid
Publication Date: July 29, 2014 from Harlequin Teen
Title Summary:
Five strangers. Countless adventures. One epic way to get lost.
Four teens across the country have only one thing in common: a girl named LEILA. She crashes into their lives in her absurdly red car at the moment they need someone the most.
There’s HUDSON, a small-town mechanic who is willing to throw away his dreams for true love. And BREE, a runaway who seizes every Tuesday—and a few stolen goods along the way. ELLIOT believes in happy endings…until his own life goes off-script. And SONIA worries that when she lost her boyfriend, she also lost the ability to love.
Hudson, Bree, Elliot and Sonia find a friend in Leila. And when Leila leaves them, their lives are forever changed. But it is during Leila’s own 4,268-mile journey that she discovers the most important truth— sometimes, what you need most is right where you started. And maybe the only way to find what you’re looking for is to get lost along the way.

I like the concept of this coming of age road trip of self-discovery and can’t wait to see how it plays out. Leila is at the center of it all but I believe this book is all from the POV of the four people she touches on her journey. The map-style cover of the book really appeals to me, and Loss, Hope and Love marked on the route makes me think this will be quite an emotional read.

MY WOW POST
This sounds like such a feel good book! Also a bit heartbreaking because one of the main character ends up leaving but still such a great choice! Happy Reading 🙂

I haven’t heard of this one before now, but it sound so good!
Ooo! This book wasn’t on my radar at all, so I appreciate the heads up. I really like road trip books when they’re done well, and while at first I was all ho-hum, let’s see what this is about, the language with Leila crashing her red car and how she affects everyone made me very curious about the story! Definitely adding this to my pile.
