Finally, Forever by Katie Kacvinsky Book Review and Series Giveaway

Finally, Forever is the third and final book in the First Comes Love series. It’s about Gray and Dylan, a baseball jock and a vagabond photographer. These two shouldn’t have gotten together but did (and broke up) and did again. Opposites attracts stories are my favorite, and these two have chemistry to spare. But do they finally get their happy ending? Read what I thought about the book, and then enter for the chance to win e-books of the entire trilogy!

If you are late to this series, no worries! This book is a satisfying read all on its own. Here’s the deets: Gray is a college baseball player, who is kind of closed off and serious. Dylan is a free-spirited girl who loves adventure, photography, and living in the moment. They found each other and against all odds fell in love. But that’s not the end, that’s the beginning. Are they just too different to make it work? The stars haven’t aligned for these two- but a chance meeting leads to a road trip that gives them one more shot at forever.

This series straddles the line between YA and New Adult and is the kind of life and college story that I think people have wanted to see in NA. It’s less sexy and more about self-discovery, less graphic and angst, and more about the turbulent romantic journey. It’s a treat to see romance blossom between these two opposites and see the changes being together brings to their personalities.

There is more than meets the eye to Gray and Dylan. Dylan appears to be so flighty and carefree, while Gray seems like the straight man to Dylan’s antics. But when it works it works- though sometimes what’s meant to be still takes some effort to achieve.

This story of reconnection begins with misunderstanding which leads to a tension-filled road trip. The tornadoes along the way are the perfect backdrop to Gray’s stormy thoughts about Dylan. There are some surprising detours on their road trip from Omaha to Flagstaff, and traveling with Dylan always brings more adventure than you bargained for.

There are some friends new and old on the journey. Dylan’s pregnant sister Serena and her older comedian boyfriend Mark bring humor and heart to the story. And there are also Gray and Dylan’s so-called “significant others” that play a part in the itinerary.

I was totally charmed, surprised and happy with the conclusion to Gray and Dylan’s epic romance. The detours along the way just made the ending more rewarding. And if you love rom-coms you will swoon with this book.

I’m so ready to fall in love with this author. I already have Awaken on my kindle ready. I think I’ll really love this one too. A road trip, dark thoughts, detours & discovery. And that’s just in the finale. The “Vagabond” description has me more that interested in meeting Dylan too.
