Mailbox Monday (104)

mm fireworksMailbox Monday is a weekly event where we share our latest book arrivals. Link up and find new mailboxes to stalk at the Mailbox Monday blog! Hope that you all had a happy fourth!

Here’s this week’s mail haul:

Defector by Susanne Winnacker – This was the only print book I received in the mail for review this week, and it was a surprise. It’s the sequel to last year’s Imposter.

On the Fence by Kasie West – I thought this looked like a sweet summer read so I picked up the paperback. It’s about a tomboy who falls for the guy next door.

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater, audiobook read by Dan Bittner and Emma Galvin – I’ve read all the Wolves of Mercy Falls books and couldn’t resist picking up this spinoff book about Cole and Isabel. The audio is really good!

The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone by Adele Griffin – This book is described as an oral history, a la Jean Stein’s Edie Sedgwick bio, a book I love! It’s about the investigation into the death (allegedly by suicide) of a celebrity and is told in interview format of the people closest to her. The book is supposed to have supplemental material, so hopefully this works out okay as an ebook!

Lailah by Nikki Kelly – This book started out as a popular story on Wattpad, and this Macmillan edition is now fully edited and has a new ending. It’s about vampires and angels and looks pretty cool.

Thank you to Razorbill, Soho Teen, and Macmillan Childrens.

  1. Vampires and Angels in the same book? That sounds pretty different – but in a good way! Hope you enjoy reading though your haul – I’ve heard a lot about On the Fence and think it looks adorable!

Sinner is the only one that’s familiar to me. I have yet to read Stiefvater. 🙁

Just saw your comment above. I love it and I totally agree with it.

I picked up a bag at the BEA that has this saying: Never trust anyone who doesn’t show up with a book or shows up without a book. I forget which it was, but that is awesome too.

My favorite book from way back is Shadow of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

Great mailbox! That cover for Lailah is captivating, and I am really intrigued by the book’s story (both under the cover and out of the cover, so to speak!). Enjoy your new books!
