Relationships are hard, especially when one of you is a time traveler! In Loop, Bree is a shifter from the 23^rd century who falls for a 21^st century boy. When their time frames get tangled they work together to solve a mystery and try to fix the past.

This book was a blast! Time travel stories don’t always work for me (except, hello Outlander) but this one was so fun and easy to follow along. I liked the humor and mystery, and the futuristic gadgets and slang.

In Loop, Bree is a Shifter who goes to high school to learn to use her time travel talent for good. Her class assignments take her to different centuries to hone her skills, and her microchip keeps her on track. Bree’s mother is also a Shifter – but something went terribly wrong and now she’s in a coma. Desperate to pay her mom’s medical bills, Bree agrees to perform a side gig for extra cash.

On this covert mission, Bree meets Finn. The mission doesn’t work out and Bree leaves something important behind. When Bree returns, Finn seems very familiar with her, maybe too familiar. Future Bree has fallen for Finn, and he is now Bree’s partner in this messy time travel business and stows away to the future.

Loop is a light and breezy adventure. Things get complicated with managing different timelines and versions of the characters. Someone seems out to get Bree, and the mystery brings lots of surprises and adventures.

The romance between Finn and Bree is fresh and sweet. Since the two don’t share the same memories of their relationship, it’s cute to see them find their way together through their time challenges.

Loop is high concept and adventurous but also fun and charming. If you liked the tone of the Hex Hall or Paranormalcy series’ you will probably get a kick out of Loop.

Though Loop ends on a satisfying note, I’m happy to see the adventure continues in Twist!
