The Blog Most Likely To: Spotlight and Giveaway

the blog most likely to reread a favorite book

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Huntley Fitzpatrick’s new book The Boy Most Likely To Penguin invited bloggers to share their own superlatives in the feature “The Blog Most Likely To…

In the summer I crave contemporary romance and comfort reads. Sometimes you get in the mood to reread a favorite, and in fact I’ve reread My Life Next Door once or twice. So, I’d say my superlative is “The Blog Most Likely to Reread a Favorite Book.”

When there are stacks of unread books around you and an e-reader full of ARC’s it’s a guilty pleasure to pick up a book to reread instead. But you know sometimes a reread can take you out of a reading rut and inspire you to try something new so I say go for it!

Why I like to reread:

  • The comfort factor – I want that warm fuzzy feeling again.
  • Too many DNF’s – I don’t usually focus on the books I don’t like, but occasionally I have some book disappointments. A reread reinvigorates my joy of reading.
  • Seasonal – My reading mood changes with the seasons, so I’ll gravitate to favorite holiday reads in the winter and beach reads in the summer.
  • Movie refresher – When Ready Player One or Eleanor & Park hit the big screen I’m sure I’ll want to reread the books first.
  • Escape – I know where they plot is going and I know I’m going to like it!

Some of my favorite recent contemporary books to reread (or are planning to reread) are:

Just One Day series * Such a Rush * The Summer I Turned Pretty series * Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour * My Life Next Door * The Reece Malcolm List * Anna and the French Kiss series * Rites of Passage * Contours of the Heart series * The Royal We

This summer bloggers are rereading Huntley Fitzpatrick’s first two books: My Life Next Door (read-along in June) and What I Thought Was True (read-along in July). I’m happy to revisit MLND again, and this will be my first reread of WITWT, and it will help to pass the time until The Boy Most Likely To is released August 18.

About The Boy Most Likely To:

The Boy Most Likely To

Surprises abound and sparks ignite in the highly anticipated, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door

Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To:
– find the liquor cabinet blindfolded
– need a liver transplant
– drive his car into a house

Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To:
– well, not date her little brother’s baggage-burdened best friend, for starters.

For Tim, it wouldn’t be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the “smart” choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard.

Then the unexpected consequences of Tim’s wild days come back to shock him. He finds himself in a situation that isn’t all it appears to be, that he never could have predicted . . . but maybe should have.

And Alice is caught in the middle.

Told in Tim’s and Alice’s distinctive, disarming, entirely compelling voices, this return to the world of My Life Next Door is a story about failing first, trying again, and having to decide whether to risk it all once more.

Penguin is offering five winners the chance to win an ARC of The Boy Most Likely To and a signed copy of My Life Next Door! I am just a little envious of the winner of this one 🙂 To enter, please fill out the Rafflecopter below:
