I am so excited to share that I’m a Round 1 Cybils Panelist for Young Adult Fiction this year. The Cybils awards are given each year by bloggers to celebrate the best in YA and Childrens books. Last year’s winner in the YA Fiction category was Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.
This is my first year participating on this panel, and I’m a little intimidated! YA Fiction is my dream category though, and I can’t wait to talk about the books with the panel and discover some book gems.
Cybils nominations open October 1. The first-round Judges read the eligible titles (147 in YA Fiction last year, gulp) and put together a shortlist. Round-two judges take it from there and select a final winner.
I’m looking forward to working with my fellow Round One panelists:
Michelle @ The Hungry Readers
Maureen @ By Singing Light
Tabitha @ Writer Musings
William @ Guys Lit Wire
Madeline @ Early Nerd Special
Beth @ Beth Reads
Lucy @ The Reading Date
And our YA Fiction Chair Jackie @ Interactive Reading
From October to the end of the year (at least) you’ll see a lot of YA Fiction reviews from me since that is where my reading focus will be. I hope you nominate your favorite books to make sure your top 2013 reads are considered, and maybe you’ll even top the 147 YA Fiction nominations from last year. I’ll post a reminder when nominations open.
