The Reading Date turned 3 today! Hooray! *Throws confetti*
I started this little book blog three years ago, not really knowing what I was doing. Copying over my Goodreads reviews to the blog and checking out library books to make sure my blog had a good stream of book reviews. I dove headfirst into the book blogging community then, and I still feel like I’m figuring things out as I go.
When I started The Reading Date, I concentrated almost exclusively on YA, and read a lot of Paranormal books. That evolved to Dystopian, to Contemporary, to Literary Fiction, to New Adult. Then when reading time was short, I fell hard over audiobooks. So, my little blog is more eclectic then it used to be, and I appreciate all of you sticking with me.
We also welcomed my husband Andrew to the blog, who has his own regular feature, The Movie Date! And guess what- today is also the 1-year blogoversary of The Movie Date! Congrats Andrew! His first movie review on June 20th was for Safety Not Guaranteed.
I don’t have a lot of personal posts on my blog, but I do feel like I’ve gotten to know many of you over the years, through our ups and downs. This blog was cathartic for me when I lost my mom last year, and I appreciate all of your kind words that help me weather the storm.
I want to thank all of you for making The Reading Date such a blast over the last 3 years. I so appreciate your comments, book recommendations, friendship and support.
