Mailbox Monday is a weekly event where we share our latest book arrivals. Join in to share your book loot and discover some new book blogs. 5 Minutes for Books is the host for the month of August.
These are the books I received for the last two (three?) weeks:
Review:
Blood Fever by Veronica Wolff – trade paperback from Penguin/NAL. Book three in a series- hopefully I’ll be able to figure out what’s going on!
Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage – audiobook from Penguin Audio. This MG book looks hilarious. Can’t wait to start this one.
League of Strays by L.B. Schulman- ARC from Abrams for a blog tour in October.
E-Books for Review – all from NetGalley:
The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa – The first book in Kagawa’s Iron Fey spinoff – so excited!
Speechless by Hannah Harrington – Loved Saving June and can’t wait to read Harrington’s next contemporary book.
Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett – The first book in a new contemporary series.
Library:
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – kindle edition from the library – the waiting list was in the hundreds but I finally made it to the top.
Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris – Looks like a fun sci-fi, and it’s been compared to Veronica Mars, X-Files, and Fringe.
Serpent’s Kiss by Melissa de la Cruz – Sequel to last year’s Witches of East End.
Radiant Days by Elizabeth Hand – audiobook. A historical fantasy set in the art world in 1978 and 1870.
Sync YA free audiobook download of the week:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, read by Khristine Hvam – I’ll listen to this one again before the sequel’s release.
Have a great week!
I’m so curious about Gone Girl. All I have heard are accolades. Happy reading!
Great great week. I won Gone Girl a little while back with all the hype I’m excited to find out what I think. This is me for the week http://frellathon.com/2012/08/06/monday-mailbox-6/
I’ve been seeing The Lost Prince all over the place, I really need to read the Iron Fey series!
I got Speechless as well, I am expecting good things!
I read Three Times Lucky in print and thought it was great – I bet it’s even better on audio. I wish my copy of Gone Girl would hurry up and get here!!
I’m looking forward to your reviews! I’m especially looking forward to what you think of the MG humor. There needs to be more cont humor for MG and YA out there! 🙂
I LOVED Gone Girl…I read it last week. Hope you enjoy all of your books, and check out MY MONDAY MEMES POST
I’ve got a copy of League of Strays too. I’m a little hesitant to get into it… Mostly because of the other reviews and such I’ve seen swirling around it. But then again, they make me want to see what it’s really about!
Enjoy your books…first-time visitor.
