Publication Date: September 17, Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)

Publisher’s summary :

Making friends has never been Elise Dembowski’s strong suit. All throughout her life, she’s been the butt of every joke and the outsider in every conversation. When a final attempt at popularity fails, Elise nearly gives up. Then she stumbles upon a warehouse party where she meets Vicky, a girl in a band who accepts her; Char, a cute, yet mysterious disc jockey; Pippa, a carefree spirit from England; and most importantly, a love for DJing.

Told in a refreshingly genuine and laugh-out-loud funny voice, This Song Will Save Your Life is an exuberant novel about identity, friendship, and the power of music to bring people together.

Music + Humor? Sold. Everyone can relate to feeling like an outsider sometimes, and it sounds like Elise hits rock bottom.  I like that she finds people to connect with, and bonds over music. There’s not too many books featuring DJ’s either – how fun!

That cover is a knockout too – can’t wait for this pretty to hit shelves!

  1. This book definitely sounds interesting! I haven’t read any YA books that deal with music now that I think about it. I do have If I Stay and Where She Went sitting on my desk, but I haven’t picked either of them up yet. Yes! to the cover :). It’s quite awesome and funky! I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to read it Lucy!
