My favorite character in the wizard of oz is the cowardly lion!

  2. Sandy S. says:

I know this is going to sound strange but I haven’t read a retelling of a fairy tale or at least I don’t recall one. I love The Wizard of Oz, I mean I love it! I have the stuffed dolls for this one – the lion, the scarecrow and the tin man and now my three year old granddaughter plays with them. She can recite the story and if you leave out a detail, she will definitely tell you. I tried to tell her about the horse of a different color and we got into a shouting match as she didn’t believe it was in the story – ha! Now, when we watch it, she always points it out to me. Now, to my favorite character….I think that would have to be the tin man. Why? I think he was encouraging and he offered hope. He also was a different and unique individual.

  3. Kristy Petree says:

My favorite Oz character is the scarecrow! And one of the retellings I’ve enjoyed (haven’t read these yet, but would love to) is Chanda Hahn’s Unfortunate Fairy Tale series. It’s kind of a younger-YA series that includes bits and pieces of several Grimm tales. Thanks!

  4. Ann says:

I love Cinder, Scarlet… by Meyer!

  5. Chelsea B. says:

My favorite retelling is The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer!

  6. Alexander says:

My favorite character in the wizard of oz would probably be the tin man because i feel like even though he “can’t love” because he doesn’t have a heart, he cares about Dorothy the most.

  8. MarthaE says:

I love several retellings of The Beauty and the Beast. My favorite character in Wizard of Oz is the Tin Man who loved all along. This series sounds like fun reading.

  9. Laurie C says:

I don’t read a lot of fairy tale retellings, but my favorite one is Juliet Marillier’s Wildwood Dancing. I also liked Beastly by Alex Flinn. (I also just watched Stephen Sondheim’s musical, Into the Woods, on TV. Really good!)

  10. My favorite retelling is the Cinderella one. I also really adore watching them on Once Upon a Time!

  11. Sabrina says:

My favorite character in the Wizard of Oz is the scarecrow. I loved dancing to If I Only Had a Brain as a child. The movie and Baum’s series were my favorites for a long time. In this series, I love him for how mad scientist creepy he is. Danielle Paige’s characters are wonderfully similar as twisted versions of what we think we know about Oz. I can’t wait to read the conclusion! My favorite retelling is After Alice. Anything Oz or Wonderland related and I’m in.

  12. Sabrina Forney says:

As a child, I loved the L. Frank Baum’s book series and the movie!. The scarecrow has always been my favorite character. In this series, I love him for how mad scientist creepy he is. All of the Dorothy Must Die character are dark and twisted version of what we think we know about Oz. Can’t wait to read the conclusion. In relation to other retellings, I loved After Alice and the Wicked Series. Anything Oz or Wonderland related and I’m in. Once Upon a Time is also once of my must watch shows!
