Fall listening list / wish list
YA

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon, read by Bahni Turpin, Raymond Lee, Dominic Hoffman – Nov. 1. This one day love story is about a girl who believes in science and facts and a boy who is more of a dreamer. Are they meant to be? A National Book Award finalist.
The Romantics by Leah Konen, read by Amanda Leigh Cobb – Nov. 1. Love herself narrates this quirky rom-com about a guy who is unlucky in love.
YA/Holiday

The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan, read by Tara Sands, Ryan Gesell – Oct. 18. Looking forward to more holiday adventures with Dash & Lily.
What Light by Jay Asher, read by Mandy Siegfried – Oct. 11. This one is about finding love at the Christmas tree lot.
Middle Grade
Ghost by Jason Reynolds, read by Guy Lockhard – on sale now. I’ve listened to all of Jason Reynolds books and am impatiently waiting for my library to order this one. Ghost is a fast runner who got his start running from his father but now he runs track. His past is getting in the way of his dreams but his coach tries to keep him on track. A National Book Award finalist.
Mystery/Thriller
The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer, read by Ellen Archer – Nov. 8. I’m intrigued to read something new from Stephenie Meyer! From the blurb, “an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life.”
Fiction/Books on TV

The Secret History of Twin Peaks by Mark Frost, read by Len Cariou, Mark Frost, Kyle MacLachlan, James Morrison, Chris Mulkey, Amy Shiels, Russ Tamblyn. I’m a long-time TP fans and can’t wait to see the revival. This book is supposed to shed some light on what’s been happening for the last 25 years in the world of Twin Peaks.
Queen Sugar: A Novel by Natalie Baszile, read by Miriam Hyman – On sale now. I have really been enjoying watching the OWN TV series so I’m eager to listen to the book that the series is based on.
Memoirs

Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick – Nov. 15. I’ve followed Anna Kendrick’s career and she seems so witty and fun so I imagine this will be a very humorous listen.
Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between) by Lauren Graham – Nov. 29. I am a big fan of Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, author of Someday, Someday, Maybe) so this is a must-listen! I’ll listen to it after my GG binge-watch.
What are you excited to listen to this fall?
I loved Everything, Everything, so am excited about The Sun is Also a Star too.
I have totally missed any special weeks this year. Looks like you did a great job with Audio week posts. When I start looking at Audiobooks the hour just flies by. Happy reading AND listening!
