Top 10 Books To Make You Swoon

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature from The Broke and the Bookish. Happy Valentine’s week, dear readers! Last week we counted down the books that make you cry, and this week it’s all about the swoon factor. Honestly it was easier coming up with the books that made me cry, isn’t that weird? Here are ten books that made me swoon:

YA Travel themed:

1. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith This book takes place over 24-hours and features a romantic connection on an international flight.

2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins – Perkins knows how to bring the swoons and it’s not surprise she’s featured twice on this list. The romance between St. Clair and Anna is even more special with the magical backdrop of Paris.

3. Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson  This road trip romance features two near-strangers getting to know each other through road trip playlists and twenty questions.

4. Just One Day by Gayle Forman – Can just one day in Paris change your life? Allyson and Willem’s day is unconventionally romantic but definitely transformative.

The Boy Next Door / Nice Guys:

5. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick Such a great summer romance. Jase Garrett is the nicest guy and I’d like his awesome family to adopt me.

6. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins – Cricket Bell is a sweet, smart, tall guy and a snappy dresser. Lots of swoon-worthy moments between Lola and her neighbor Cricket.

7. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell  – This book is just like a romantic comedy- the Y2K setting and Lincoln the IT guy falling for the girl whose email he’s monitoring. So cute.

8. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand – It’s easy to see why Clara fell for that sweet cowboy Tucker Avery.

Romantic Novellas:

9. The Story Guy by Mary Ann Rivers – This novella is about a teen librarian who answers a personals ad to meet a stranger once a week for a kissing date. It’s a sweet story with an emotional connection.

10. Night of Cake & Puppets by Laini Taylor – This Daughter of Smoke and Bone companion novella tells the story of a very magical and romantic first date. Pure gorgeousness.

What books make you swoon?

Oh the swoons! Loved all of these that I read and they are perfect for when you need a swoony moment! Great list!

  8. I’ve heard that Cake and Puppets is amazing. Considering how much I love Daughter of Smoke and Bone I really should get around to reading it! I love Stephanie Perkins and her books have such swoonworthy characters.

  9. I agree with so many of these books. Attachments! Both Lola and Anna! I didn’t even think about The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, but that is definitely a swoonworthy book.

  10. This is definitely a week where I’ll be adding tons of books to my wish list! What a great topic. I just picked up The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, so I’m glad to see that one on your list!

  11. Summer/Sunny says:

Anna and the French Kiss is such a popular one this week! I can’t believe I forgot Just One Day. I’m glad to hear that Attachments was swoon-worthy, I have that on my shelf. Great list!

  12. Elizabeth says:

Attachments is one of my favorite romantic comedy books ever. I am going to try to get my mom to read it as she borrowed my copy of The Hunger Games and said it was too intense for her. So maybe something more happy will be the right speed?

  13. Brittany says:

Oooh very great choices! A few I still need to read (and get to STAT) and looks like we share a few as well! Definitely eying Anna and the French Kiss & Night of Cake and Puppets!!

  14. This post just made me go pick up Night of Cake & Puppets. FINALLY! It’s just been sitting on my Amazon wish list for so long… You pushed me the rest of the way and I finally get to read it now! Yay! Now we really, *really* need Dreams of Gods & Monsters…

I love your list and love all of these titles. I plan to read My Life Next Door soon! Been seeing that one everywhere!

  15. MsJohannah says:

Great list! I need to read those! All of them.

  16. I liked The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, but I didn’t love it. I think if I reread it knowing what it’s really about, I might like it better. Every scene involving Oliver was enjoyable and Hadley’s relationship with her dad is interesting enough. I’d just like to warn other readers that this is not the romantic, heart-pounding love-story it proclaims itself to be.

  17. Quinn says:

Oh heck yeah I’d be all for the Hollywood powers that be making Attachments into a romantic comedy. Perfection.

Also, I cannot believe I forgot to include Anna and the French Kiss! Crazy! St. Clair is totally swoony.

I really loved The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, but I didn’t find it particularly swoon-worthy. That’s just me, though, and I can understand your thoughts.

What a fun list! I have a Anna & the French Kiss and Attachments on my TTT as well, they were just so much fun to read and I was in a happy daze for days afterwards:)

Here’s my swoony reads, if you’d like to take a look!

  20. I have to keep this list handy…
