Mailbox Monday (88)

Mailbox Monday buttonMailbox Monday is a weekly event where we share our latest book arrivals. Link up and find new mailboxes to stalk at the Mailbox Monday blog!

Audiobooks:

Liv, Forever by Amy Talkington, performed by Jorjeana Marie – Thank you Audiobook Jukebox and Blackstone Audio! Liv Bloom gets murdered at boarding school and now she haunts the halls, seeking the truth about the mysterious deaths (with her alive boyfriends’ help)

Print Books:

The Ring and The Crown by Melissa de la Cruz – Thank you Big Honcho Media and Disney/Hyperion! Such a pretty cover! This is the first book of a new historical series, and has magic, royal intrigue, and romance.

E-books:

You Had Me At Hello by Mhairi McFarlane – Rachel bumps into her ex Ben ten years after they broke up. She’s never gotten over him, but he’s married now. I’m curious about how it’s going to turn out!

This One Summer by Jillian Tamaki and Mariko Tamaki – I  have not read a lot of graphic novels in the past so I’m trying out a few from First Second books. This is a coming of age about two friends vacationing with their families. The blue in the artwork really appeals to me. Wish I had a hard copy but the nook color will have to do for now.

In Real Life by Cory Doctorow and Jen Wang – This is another graphic novel from First Second Books. IRL is about gaming, culture, and poverty, and the artwork is quite striking.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin – My sister recommended this one to me, and I immediately hopped on Netgalley to request it. It’s about a struggling widower bookseller and the strange events that suddenly occur in the store. I haven’t read much of it yet, but I love the writing style.

Roman Holiday: The Complete Adventure by Ruthie Knox – All ten installments of this serialized novel are now bundled in one convenient package – time to dive in!

The Kiss of Deception by Mary A. Pearson – The first book of a new fantasy trilogy about a princess who runs away from her would be arranged marriage. Everyone in my GR feed is raving about this book.

I’ve read some good reviews for LIV, FOREVER (although I think the cover is deceiving: I think it’s a ghost story!) Oh my gosh, I love Cory Doctorow and I must check out his new graphic novel. Awesome haul, Lucy, enjoy!

It’s been years since I have read Melissa de la Cruz but I love this one’s cover so much, I’m tempted to get my hands on it if only for this reason (I know, I know!) Looks like you have some great reading ahead. I’ll be adding In Real Life to my wishlist.
