#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and That’s What I’m Talking About.
I signed up with #FitReaders this year to join in with a group of readers who also want to focus on fitness this year.
I have struggled with keeping up with a set fitness routine due to injury and a chronic autoimmune disease I have. (Though I know exercise will help with that) Adding to that, I also have some food allergies that make me adhere to a very strict diet. There is also a history of heart disease in my family and so my focus is on cardio and to maintain a healthy weight. I joined this challenge to hold myself accountable and to get healthier.
My goals this month:
Exercise 6 times a week with a focus on Cardio (I like dance and walking) and complete the monthly beginner’s Blogilates calendar.
Maintain a food log at MyFitnessPal to monitor my calorie intake (I credit past successes with this method)
How I’ve been doing so far:
12/29 90 minutes walking
12/30 80 minutes cardio
12/31 60 minutes cardio
1/1 30 minutes blogilates, 30 minutes cardio
1/2 30 minutes blogilates, 30 minutes cardio
1/3 30 minutes blogilates, 30 minutes cardio
1/4 60 minutes blogilates
I have an older model fitbit but I’m currently using a FitMeter to track my steps, striving to hit 10k daily.
I’ll post on the weekend’s to track my progress. Did you make any fitness resolutions this year?

I am part of #fitreaders too, I found last year knowing that readers around the world are all doing it, helps me on the days I am unmotivated. This is a good lot of exercise you fit into the last week. Amazing actually.
Glad you’re a fit reader too, Kathryn! Hope this is a fun and fit year for you. This is a good motivating group.
I’m doing #FitReaders too. I did #BookBlogWalkers last year and it really helped me keep moving, tracking with a FitBit Flex. I’m adding some ab exercises this year, since that is where I carry most of my weight. Maybe some other exercises too throughout the year. Don’t know yet, we’ll see. I’m also tracking my calories using MyFitnessPal.
I like MyFitnessPal too and how the app reminds you to log your meals. I’ll have to look into a Fitbit Flex! I’m addicted to making my steps goal.
>I tried a bit of cardio today, blergh, I should do more
Cardio is tiring indeed. I’m waiting for that endorphin high to kick in.
Way to kick off the new year! I’m doing #FiReaders too, and hoping the accountability helps keep me consistently moving – whatever form that movement takes 🙂
I think the accountability definitely makes a difference, Tanya! Hope it’s a fun and fit year for you 🙂
Oh you do Blogilates? I kind of want to do a calender of hers. Maybe I’ll do one next month. I did some of the beginner one and it was hard work! You are doing fantastic 😀
My resolutions are to get stronger, drink more water, and run a 5k.
Those are great goals, Adriana! I definitely need to drink more water too. That is awesome that you want to run a 5K- I have big respect for runners.
That’s some serious moving. I feel like a couch potato in comparison lol what on earth are blogilates??
Lol, I’m tired for sure! Though I still spend plenty of time on the couch 🙂
Blogilates refers to Blog + Pilates. A fitness guru / YouTube sensation named Cassey Ho puts together a monthly calendar of workouts to complete, and posts all the exercises on YouTube. She’s really positive and energetic but her workouts are really tough!
Good luck with your goals. I agree with you about my fitnesspal. I just joined #fitreaders.
