Mailbox Monday #7

Mailbox Monday is the brainchild of Marcia of the Mailbox Monday book blog, and now is hosted by a new blog each month. Join in to share your book loot and discover some new book blogs. Marie at Burton Book Review is the host for the month of June, so check in there to get the weekly low-down.

These are the books I received last week:

Bought:

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead – Yay!

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund – Just started this one and I’m liking it.

Review:

Betrayal by Gregg Olsen -Book two in the Empty Coffin series (Book #1 Envy)

Dualed by Elsie Chapman – A dystopian that sounds really interesting – in the future everyone has a twin and before your twentieth birthday you have to fight your twin and only one can survive.

Manicpixiedreamgirl by Tom Leveen – How cute is that title? I was very impressed with Leveen’s Zero and look forward to checking his next book out.

Library:

Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony, Rodrigo Corral – This is a large format scrapbook type book about the disappearance of a young musician named Glory.

Thumped by Megan McCafferty – The conclusion to last year’s Bumped.

Awkward by Marni Bates – The synopsis reminds me of Audrey, Wait! It’s about an awkward girl who becomes a reluctant YouTube sensation. Sounds like a fun read.

Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols – I’ve been wanting to catch up on all of Echols’ books so I was glad to find one at the library.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – Audiobook – This audiobook is read by Jim Dale and I hear he does an amazing job.

Bossypants by Tina Fey – Playaway audiobook – I’m listening to this now and it’s very entertaining.

Sync YA free audiobook download of the week:

The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch – Audiobook read by Dan Bittner.  Suzanne Collins blurbed this one – not too shabby.

Have a great week!

Wow! You’ve got plenty to keep me busy. I enjoyed Chopsticks, but had to get Sandy of You’ve Gotta Read This to help me out a little at the end. Pay close attention to detail when you read it.

Oh wow, Awkward is SO cute! I got to participate in the blog tour for it and loved the pants off the book! And Bossypants? SUCH a great read! I really want to check out the audio of it, just because Tina Fey narrates it! (which, you know, makes sense since it’s her book!) Looks like you’re gonna be busy, busy! 🙂

The Night Circus was so fantastic. Chopsticks was also really interesting and lovely. There are two ways to read it so it’ll be interesting to see which one you pick! And I really want to get an approval for Dualed already! Happy reading!

Bumped and Thumped sound like great reads-added them to my TBR list.

I actually have the audio version of Tina Fey’s book, but I tried to listen to while I was running and my mind wandered. I couldn’t stay with it. It was the 1st audiobook I’ve ever tried to listen to. I guess my attention span isn’t good enough. I’ll try it again!
