Mailbox Monday is a weekly event where we share our latest book arrivals. Link up and find new mailboxes to stalk at the Mailbox Monday blog!
I’ve been sick with a cold for a few days so haven’t been reading or online as much. But I’m excited to catch up with some of these new pretties.
Won and borrowed:
Deeper by Robin York – I won a signed copy of the book from the author (aka Ruthie Knox!) I loved this e-galley and all of you New Adult fans should check this one out.
Champion by Marie Lu – Hooray for libraries coming through with the audiobook. Now to see how this series ends!
Dirt Candy cookbook by Amanda Cohen & Ryan Dunlavey – Dirt candy= vegetables! This cookbook is from the NY vegetarian restaurant of the same name. I didn’t get a chance to visit when I was there but I’m eager to try out a recipe or two. It is an unusual cookbook in that it’s in graphic novel format!
Netgalley new arrivals:
The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf by Ambelin Kwaymullina – This book looks really cool and is an Australian dystopia about the interrogation of a leader of “Illegals” (persons with unique abilities.)
The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu – A book about gossip, rumors and bullying and the toll it takes on the victim.
Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel – A contemporary Peter Pan story from Wendy Darling’s pov! She’s searching for her missing surfer brothers.
Before You Break by Christina Lee – A standalone companion novel to last year’s All of You about a bad boy baseball player and a studious girl.
On the Road to Find Out by Rachel Toor – A girl gets denied to the college of her dreams and sets off running! I’m not a runner but maybe this book will inspire me to start! (It’s also supposedly about rats and the college selection process)
Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg – Can a guy and a girl be best friends? Macallan and Levi’s friendship causes trouble in their respective love lives- are they destined for something more?
What’s new in your mailbox? Did you do anything fun this weekend?

Awesome pile, Lucy! I’m hoping to get Second Star too, and The Interrogation. .. looks really interesting. Hope you feel better soon:)
I love that my library has audio books too! Dirt Candy cookbook sounds interesting. I think my dil would love it. She and my two grandchildren are vegetarians and my son is a vegan.
The Dirt Candy cookbook looks interesting!
Oh! I really want to read second star and the truth about Alice. They sound really good. Great haul! I hope you have fun reading them.
I really like Knox’s adult romances and hope that you like her NA book. Second Star sounds pretty interesting, too. I haven’t read too many Peter Pan books, but I always buy them. I should probably read some of them. 🙂
Enjoy your books!
Enjoy your netgalley haul, and hope you feel better really soon Lucy.
I hope you’re feeling better. As for the weekend, it was exam week for uni, so I had essays to edit. So not fun! Next weekend, I plan to do a lot of reading!
These all look like great YA novels! Enjoy!

Second Star and On the Road to Find Out look really good. Thanks for sharing. I bought a book for research on the Reconstruction Era and picked up some Kindle freebies. You can find my post at http://www.thebusymomsdaily.com/2014/01/mailbox-monday-january-20.html
The Truth About Alice sounds like a good book!
Dirt Candy cookbook – love that name!
enjoy all your books!
[…] Serena 1. The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf by Ambelin Kwaymullina because it’s set in a different country and is dystopian, but also combines “supernatural” like people (the leader of the illegals who have unique abilities), which I found on The Reading Date. […]
