Mailbox Monday #17

Mailbox Monday is a weekly event where we share our latest book arrivals. Join in to share your book loot and discover some new book blogs. BookNAround is the host for the month of September.

These are the books I received this week:

Review:

Doomed by Tracey Deebs – A Post-Apocalyptic Pandora retelling that sounds very cool. From Bloomsbury/NetGalley.

The Dark Heroine: Dinner with a Vampire by Abigail Gibbs – A Wattpad.com Twilight fan-fiction turned HarperCollins published e-book written by a then 15-year-old. How could I resist?

 Library:

Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh – I went to the library to pick up my hold of this book and of course ended up grabbing more books. Enshadowed is the sequel to Nevermore and looks to be a good spooky read for the fall!

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson – I’ve been eager to read this re-imagining of Peter Pan for ages.

Hope you found lots of bookish goodness in your mailbox this week! And hey, while you’re here – check out my international giveaway of the first two books in the Empty Coffin series by Gregg Olsen!

I’m guessing Tiger Lily is the Peter Pan story from a female perspective. Sounds interesting! Enjoy your new books.

    1. Lucy says:

Yes, you’re right! Surprisingly though the story is told from Tinker Bell’s perspective.

  5. I bought Enshadowed when it came out and I still haven’t read it. I loved the first one so much and I think I’m scared this one won’t live up to it lol. Enjoy all your new books, Lucy!

I have Tiger Lily on my list too, but I put it way out/ because I have so many others that have been on the list longer. I love the Peter Pan story. Have you ever read The Child Theif by Brom? You should get it just for his awesome illustrations, but the story is great as well. http://www.amazon.com/Child-Thief-Novel-Brom/dp/0061671347/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1348524116&sr=1-1&keywords=the+child+theif

I haven’t read The Child Thief, but it sounds amazing – and it’s only $1.99 for kindle. Thanks for the rec!

      1. squee1313 says:

I got it at my library, but for $1.99, I might buy it too. It’s good enough to add to my permanent collection

  11. Ooooh, I really loved Carnival of Souls so I hope you enjoy that! It is more of a set up novel, but it definitely has a dark feel. 🙂

    Happy reading!
